Why Is My Rotating Proxy Not Changing IPs?

If your rotating proxy keeps returning the same IP, it’s often because you’re using a sticky session or your provider rotates IPs on a timer instead of every request. Some providers also require a specific session parameter to trigger IP rotation.

Check your proxy settings and confirm how rotation works. If you expect a new IP for every request, make sure session persistence is disabled. Also verify that you’re connecting to a rotating endpoint rather than a static or dedicated proxy.

Providers like Bright Data, Oxylabs, Decodo (formerly Smartproxy), and SOAX let you choose between sticky and rotating sessions and explain how IP rotation works in their documentation.

If the IP never changes after multiple requests, test a different rotating endpoint or contact your provider to confirm your rotation settings are configured correctly.
